Well I finally christened Pinky this morning. I was making a tight turn into my parking space at work, caught my pant leg on the peg and down we went. I didn't think it would be an issue picking her up, but I could not get her high enough to do the leverage maneuver with my back against the seat, pushing with my legs. I had to call a male co-worker (who rides) to pick her up. He was very nice and came running, not making any jokes, just picked her up and asked if I was ok. Then he recounted the time he dropped his Valkerie in his driverway doing something similar.
I had my Scorpion pants turned under and they must have been poking out. I'm thinking I should wear a velcro band around my ankles to make sure this doesn't happen again. I also need to practice the pick-up maneuver with this bike. I hate having someone pick up my bike for me.
Bent the brake lever & small scratch to the lower fairing. Nothing broke, but my pride.

Permalink Reply by Lil Brat on December 29, 2011 at 10:53am Good idea with the rubber bands. I will grab a couple heavy ones at work. Break lever still works so I'll leave it for now. Could have been worse, so I feel lucky. Just sorry I scratched my baby!

Permalink Reply by Lil Brat on December 30, 2011 at 12:30pm I'm a bit sore today but like any mishap, have learned something from it. I need to get back to doing some upper body strength training. I decided that I like my brake lever curled up on the end.
I had pick up bikes (a couplesss of time - lol) but only in the first try by adrenaline rush, after that i am so mad, upset or embarrassed that I can't do it. It's always so nice when someone come to the rescue. I am glad you did okay; our pride learn while our body sometimes never heals.
When I first tried the Sayna out when other half had her, I went around the block, came back and forgot to clutch her to stop, stalled and went down....luckly I was so slow.Hit my funny bone, nothing done to the Sanya. But I could not pick her up so I know how it feels.
Only yesterday did I park her in her normal spot that she decided to slip and fall :( luckly I was able to pick her up this time, she is a weighty bike for a 125cc.
Glad you had someone there to help you though, always nice to know someone is able to help.Pride will heal :)
