GirlRiders

Friday, March 23rd at 8pm on ABC

GoGo Gear is a company that designs and manufacturers protective riding gear that doesn't look like typical riding gear.  It is very stylish, I really love what they are doing.  I don't see anything I'd really where on my sportbike, but a few I could pull off on the motard.  If I had a scooter, a cafe racer or  even a cruiser, I would definitely own one of their jackets.

Well, good news for them is that they made it on to the ABC show Shark Tank.  I haven't watched it before, but they give small new companies a chance to compete and win investors.

This is not only good for the company GoGo Gear, but for the promotion of women's protective riding gear in general.  They will be touching on a huge market that may not be exposed to the importance of safety gear, and that there are options out there for everyone's taste.

Go check out GoGo Gear and let me know what you think!

GoGo Gear protective riding gear to appear on ABC TVs "Shark Tank" March 9th!

OK ladies, we finally have our air date! We'll be on Shark Tank, Friday, March 9th, on ABC, at 8pm. We'll be on for about ten minutes which means about 10 million viewers are going to see safety and riding at the forefront! The value of this exposure is immeasurable in terms of our brand and product but also letting all these people know how critical it is to wear protective gear when riding! Not sure how they're going to edit our segment but believe me, the taping was very tense! Should make for great television!!! Will provide an update of what happened after the show airs! Here we go!!! You can follow us on twitter at @LAScooterGirls and on facebook at www.facebook.com/gogogearla

This is very cool, I can't wait to see it!

Thanks Arlene, I was wondering what happened,  I'm glad I didn't miss it!

They did it!!!  Congratulations Arlene and GoGo Gear!

Daymond John CEO of FUBU chose to invest in this great line of gear, can't wait to see where this takes them, check them out now http://www.scooter-girls.com.

Watch Shark Tank episode, they are the last group to present.

I like the styling and fabrics of the longline jackets, great if you have a scooter..too long in the body to work on a regular bike though I think.

Good o see another range of kevlar jeans for women. I usually buy black kevlar cargo pants, I like that style.

Hopefully with their new investors they'll be able to expand the line to work for a wider range of riders :)   Where did you see their jeans?  I don't see them.

On the website theres some drop down lists...'Products' then  'womens kevlar' pants..

Hi everyone! Arlene here from GoGo Gear! Just wanted to give you a bit more information about our product. More than half of our customers ride sportbikes, and many of them have more than one of our styles of jackets. I personally have worn our mesh Cafe jacket on a 1000 mile ride across the entire Baja Pennisula in 103 degree temperatures a couple of years ago. In addition, I have worn the Military and Hologram jackets on a trip up the Pacific Coast Highway from Los Angeles to San Francisco and back. I have worn several of the jackets while participating in motorcycle endurance races (400 miles per day each race). I am also going to be riding cross country and back in 2013 in another endurance race on a motorcycle, 5,500 miles in two weeks and will be wearing one of our jackets.

Looks are very deceiving when it comes to our jackets. They're all waterproof, windproof, breathable, have a LOT of reflective details on them, lots of pockets, they have wind cuffs inside them to prevent the air from blowing up the sleeves. I have personally thrown myself down a 50 foot hill to test the armor and had a motorcycle drag me 80 feet down the pavement to test the abrasion resistance. These aren't scooter jackets, they're full blown motorcycle jackets, they just don't look like it.

Thanks so much!

Arlene

That's awesome Arlene, that throwing yourself down the the hill sounds like YouTube gold!  LOL   I think I'm going to take a closer look and try one out.

OH - I was going to the old URL scooter-girls.com, just found the new one, http://www.gogogearla.com/

This one is cute Tracy, not too long, and ventilation is a plus for sure.

I had recorded the episode & watched it recently. Congrats GogoGear!  And i agree w previous statement, hopefully a chic line of sportsbike clothing will be in the works... the small variety in women's protective sportsbike clothing is far from chic.
