I think a lot of us customize our bikes to make them unique or just work better for us.  Appearance,  ergonomics, safety or engine performance, a stock bike rarely stays that way for long.

What modifications have you done?

Which ones have you actually performed yourself?

Which one mod has been your personal favorite?

Which mod should no motorcycle be without?

What do you dream of doing to your bike, but have not yet had the opportunity?

On this bike, I haven't done much myself, hubby did most of it.  I think I installed the bar ends, removed the rear pegs, and put on the GR decal

Which one mod has been your personal favorite?

The paint, although I've gotten a little tired of it, but I still love it.

Which mod should no motorcycle be without?

Frame sliders!

What do you dream of doing to your bike, but have not yet had the opportunity?

I don't know anything else I would do on this bike

I have only done a few mods on my bike:

Yoshimura Japan slip-on (kept the cat)

LSL no-cut sliders

Speedo Healer

GP-Tre

Suzuki gel seat

Shogun bar end sliders

Cigarette plug for cell phone, radar detector, tire pump, etc.

Nice Samantha!  I guess you also changed the gearing since you have a speedo healer?

I had to go look up GP-Tre,  I didn't know this:   The GP-TRE is an advanced Timing Retard Eliminator which preserves the function of the OEM dash gear position indicator. All of Suzuki's late models sportbikes have electronic circuitry which retards the ignition timing in the first four gears and on some models the first Five gears, which also reduces horsepower.    So could you tell a difference after you installed it?

With the Monster, I have only done two mods:  A different windscreen so I can ride distances and suspension adustment.  The one that I cannot live without is setting the SAG to me!!!  That made a huge difference in how the bike feels and handles.  WIth my other bikes, I've had them lowered, etc, but with this one, only those two mods.

Well lets see...her name is SoPretty.   She got a paint job for my 30th b-day.  I also covered her seats with a croc pattern leather.  She got some flush mounted blue front singal lights to accent her paint job.  And I smoked out her lights (front and back).  Lastly she has been lowered...for me the short girl.

I covered her seats, the rest were done for me.

I think whatever you can do to make your bike a a part of you that is a good thing...just makes the sport funnier (if you will).

Now that I am getting away from casual riding and more into the sport of riding there are tons of things I want to do...she will be less of a show piece and more of a work horse (lol).  My first step is to raise it back up and get the suspension set just for me.  Then I plan to build her into a drag bike.  Oh fun days are ahead...I need to probably get another job to support this habit.

No, no gearing change but even with stock gearing, my speedometer was off by nearly 10%. The main reason for the TRE was to eliminate some of the engine braking so it is not so abrupt/strong which is part of the timing retard. So in that respect, I definitely feel a difference as it been eliminated by maybe 50%? The ol' butt dyno says the bike is faster but I have nothing concrete to back that up

I ride a 2009 Kawasaki Versys, and my husband and I modified it to make it more confortable for me:

We installed a block to lower it about 2".  Shortened kickstand and added a foot plate.

Bar backs.

Brush guards.

Rear view mirror extenders

Taller Givi adjustable windshield.

Cramp buster.

Added a plug for heated jacket liner.

The one modification I could not live without is the block that lowered it.  My bike was just too tall to put my feet down flat at a stop.

Mods made to the Hypermotard,  loving this bike right now!

Custom Penske shock and spring
Lowering link
Shortened kick stand
DIY gel seat
Zeta bar
Zeta guards with signals
Super moto Bar ends
Aprilla Touno mirrors
Titanium mirrors clamps
GPR stabilizer
Burns moto USB
Ram iPhone mount
Carbon fiber windscreen
Carbon fiber tank cover
Carbon fiber rear fairings
Leo Vince cat delete midpipe
Remapped ECU
Corse racing stripe decals
Modded plate holder (cut reflectors)

GirlRiders.net Decal

Future Maybe:

Favorite Mod:

exhaust and flush mounts

Mod no bike should be without:

exhaust!!

HIDS

Dream/future mods:

Woodcraft rear sets

all silver bits powdercoated black

remove passenger pegs

black solo cowl

steering damper

3rd eye mod

Corbin seat

replace black fairings with carbon fiber pieces

carbon fiber chain guard

Oooh... a goodie thread!    I love seeing what everyone does to their bikes!   I had a TRE on my gsxr600 to smooth out throttle response, if I remember correctly.

Now on the 750 I've got:

ASV shorty levers
Galfer SS FR brake lines
Vortex clip-ons
Vortex rearsets
GP shift
Yoshi R-55 slip-on
PCIII USB (Mapped & dynoed by Dynoworks)
K&N air filter
Techspec tank grips
Swingarm spools
Woodcraft Frame sliders
Fender eliminator
Suzuki gel seat
Yoshimura case savers
power socket

I had the suspension set for me, for track riding, by Todd at TTR (RIP) when the bike was new. Soon I'm going to need to rebuild or upgrade it.

Can't think of anything else I need to do, except add more miles.

Melissa, what's a 3rd eye mod, rear view?

I wish it was something that fancy! Lol

If you look on the front end of the newer style R6, there's a clear little plastic nobby thing(great description right??) that kind of comes down between the headlights.  The third eye mod basically fits an LED light in that clear plastic housing so that when you're running, you've got both your headlights and then the third light in the middle.  Some people put a colored LED in there or something to that effect....I just want a white one as I always run with both lows and highs on and I like how the third light looks.  It's not a big mod, just something fun!
