Do you think there is a personality type more prone to riding motorcycles?

Do you think there is a personality type more prone to riding motorcycles?  Think about the people you know who don't ride, which ones do you think would take well to riding once they tried it?

I took the following list from http://www.mypersonality.info/personality-types/:

About Personality Types

Carl Jung's theory of psychological types says each person is "wired" with different tendencies and preferences. Some of us are extraverted while others are introverted, some are "thinkers" while others are "feelers", and so on.

Which personality type do you think best describes you?  Which ones do you think would be best suited to riding?  Worst suited?
I personally think that any personality could love riding.  Just curious if there is a trend. What do you think?

They all share the FUN personality type

Actually, the people that I know who ride have all these types of personalities. Not all motorcyclists are neccessarily risk takers or type A's.

My 2cents to answer a few of the questions posed:

In meeting many riders this year, in addition to the few i knew before i got into riding, i would say that within my experience range there is no personality type prone to motorcycling. Quite a few i know are timid/shy and not the type A personalities usually stereotyped with the sport... and many are all the shades of gray in between. As for what personality type best describes me? I took the test... (which was difficult because many times i was both choices, it all depends upon the circustances & who's involved etc)... test resulted in INTJ (Strategist). The description is quite close (especially in my secular life), some of the quoted commentaries hiting it right on the nail. I guess being a "strategist" helps me in anticipation/planned execution of defensive/offensive riding tactics in the streets as well as in group rides (i just lack the experience tho still), BUT perhaps that also holds me back on twisties/corners as there is nill time to strategize/react to the "out of sight". As for worst suited to riding? I would think INFP (the dreamer)... paying attn to the road & details is important to safety for oneself & all around, as well as really enjoying ones surroundings and the ride in general. Just my opinion

Personality "Tests"..i wouldn't take this too seriously! I scored "chief": I'm extroverted (didn't need a test to confirm that), and a "thinker".

Other famous Chiefs include: Sigourney Weaver, Newt Gingrich, Steve Martin and Jim Carrey, and fictional chief shout out goes to Beatrix Kiddo (Kill Bill).

I'm pretty sure that Beatrix is the only one of the above that rides a motorcycle: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9K5fuADwIzA  and she's a badass :)

Great answers, I'm going to go take the test, I didn't have time earlier.  I'm going to log our results in the OP just for fun.

Moto, good read on strategizing your turns, very true.  I often over think them.  Music and chasing someone that's pretty close in skill level usually helps me past that.

(Silver - Kill Bill....My favorite movie ever!! )

Ok,  my result was ESJT "The Overseer"  http://www.mypersonality.info/personality-types/estj/

"ESTJs prefer occupations that require an organized, logical, and practical bent that incorporates an effective use of time and resources. They pay attention to the organization's hierarchy and use policies and procedures to help them to move the tasks along. They like making decisions and dealing with concrete, specific facts."

Ur right Katie, thats why i like being in the middle of a group ride... i belong usually in the back but chasing someone helps ALOT (tho i still have to get my booty off the seat more *smh* lol) and i've a LONG way 2go in learning to ride correctly :)

And good idea 2post the results.  Mine was INTJ the "Strategist" (bolded part about chasing around a corner in mid-pack): INTJs are introspective, analytical, determined persons with natural leadership ability. Being reserved, they prefer to stay in the background while leading. Strategic, knowledgable and adaptable, INTJs are talented in bringing ideas from conception to reality. They expect perfection from themselves as well as others and are comfortable with the leadership of another so long as they are competent. INTJs can also be described as decisive, open-minded, self-confident, attentive, theoretical and pragmatic.
