Hola ladies! I usually ride alone, and love riding early AM or at night. But be it day or night, sometimes there are safety concerns... moreso for women on bikes i think. Some biker guys carry guns, but I'm wondering what do some of the other girl riders do for 1) preventative safety measures and 2) what have you thought about for on-demand measures (as if someone shady is walking up to you & you cannot throttle you way out of it ... whip out the tazer? kickbox plan of attack?
what?)
I'll start for Preventative: I'm always watching which cars seem to be around me too long. Or if I'm going home, i usually take alot of turns into various subdivisions, or take different routes & see if there is a tail on me before I return home. Being vigilant is always key tho...
Would love to hear your Preventative measures and/or on-demand plan... if anything i hope at least this post can create some awareness & get us all thinking about "what-if" scenarios. And with the holidays coming up, ppl sometimes get a lil more brazen about taking what is not theirs!
It sounds like safety gears (boots, glove, helmet) can also be use as a defend mechanism. Another reason to wear them

If people are concerned about being attacked in anyway. Whether it's on the bike, or in any situation. I am a (Military) school trained Hand-to-Hand combat instructor. Basically, I can teach anyone some basic skills in self-defense. If anyone is interested feel free to email me. I will and am always willing to help fellow riders and just to help people be safe.

I like to conceal on my hip when i ride, or my jacket pocket. I also wear gloves with the carbon fiber knuckles, which are sure to do some damage. However, nothing works as well as being observant and knowing your surroundings.
