We lost a friend yesterday in an accident during a track day. Tasha has been a big part of the motorcycle community as I know it, and will be greatly missed. I am happy that I got to meet her and wish I could know her better. My love and prayers for Fuji and the rest of Tasha's friends and family.
A beautiful tribute from one of her friends on FB:

All I know about what happened is what I saw on FB:
I am stunned and more than a little heartbroken to learn that my very, very good friend Natasha Louis has succumbed to injuries from a crash today at Jennings GP, riding with Absolute Cycle Experience. Natasha was such a shining personality with such infectious enthusiasom for the sport. It is cold comfort to know that she died doing what she loved and a harsh reminder of the dangers of our sport. Tasha made a big impact and touched the lives of many; she is dearly, dearly missed already. My thoughts are with her family and friends and especially her partner,Dick Marcin.

So sorry to hear this. A harsh reminder of the dangers of the sport that we so love. RIP Tasha!!!

God this sucks. Every time I look at a picture of her, I can't believe she's really gone and have to go through the whole realization process all over again. It just can't be happening.

Permalink Reply by acalliste on January 16, 2012 at 6:18am At the level she rode, it has its risks for sure. Still a lot safer than riding at that level on the street and a bit safer than riding on the street at all. But the risk is always there, and it's one we accept every time we get on our bikes. There are worse ways to go, I suppose. It's just the fact that she isn't here and we'll never get to see her again... that's what makes this so hard. And she was way too young.
Permalink Reply by Girlriders - Katie on January 16, 2012 at 8:24am It is surreal, I never dreamed I wouldn't meet her again, this community is so tight, even with the miles between us. I really barely new her, but watching the things she did, not just with motorcycles was an inspiration. I remember following her posts about her 3-Day cancer walk and just being in awe.
The donation page seems to be working smoothly now, I added a link and more info to the original post above.
